Get a price you can plan around

Make the first price part of a longer view. Ask what care will cost once you are past the introduction.

Ask what the price includes

Start with the whole bill, rather than the largest number in an advert. Ask for a written breakdown and what happens when an introductory offer ends.

In a small sample of national online services for weight care checked September 26, 2026, most charged a monthly care fee plus a separate medicine bill.

This describes how those advertised bills were split; it does not give a price for care in Surprise. Ask each service for its monthly care fee and medicine price.

  • What is the charge for the first visit?
  • Is medicine included, or billed apart from care?
  • What will follow-up and any tests cost?
  • What is the ongoing charge, and how does cancellation work?

A dated example of a cash offer

Paying cash without using insurance is often called self-pay.

Strength means the amount of medicine named on the product label. The letters mg mean milligrams, a way to measure that amount.

On September 26, 2026, the government’s cash-price site listed semaglutide (Ozempic) pen offers starting at $199 per month.

That $199 price covered only the first two months of medicine for new patients paying without insurance.

That introductory price applied only to products with a 0.25 mg label or a 0.5 mg label.

After those two months, the price was $349 per month, as listed September 26, 2026. That price covered the 0.25 mg products, the 0.5 mg products and the 1 mg products.

The product labelled 2 mg cost $499 per month, as listed September 26, 2026.

The introductory offer terms run through December 31, 2026, as recorded in the September 26, 2026 check.

These amounts are label details for the products covered by the price offer. Confirm the product with the person giving care, then ask the pharmacy for today’s price.

A Medicare price has its own rules

The patient’s share of a bill is called a copay.

The September 26, 2026 check lists a $50 monthly copay under Medicare’s temporary weight-medicine program for eligible people with Medicare drug coverage.

Medicare’s agency gives July 1, 2026 as the program’s start and December 31, 2027 as its end.

Who can get this price depends on their insurance plan, health conditions and treatment history; a prescription and approval to pay for it are required.

In 2026, a service handling payments for this Medicare program checks requests for approval before the medicine is supplied.

Ask the person writing the prescription to confirm that approval and the amount you will pay before collecting the medicine.

Each $50 payment is separate from the yearly limit on what you pay for other medicines through Medicare drug coverage.

It does not help you reach that limit, and reaching the limit does not remove this program’s $50 monthly bill.

Coupons cannot lower that $50 payment.

Ask the person writing the prescription and your insurance plan to check the current rules against your situation. The price does not apply to everyone seeking peptide care.

Separate the offer from the care decision

Ask which medicine is being discussed before comparing its cost. Then ask what an in-person option, an online option and your insurance plan would each charge for that same care.

A useful written answer names the medicine, the care fee, any tests, and the ongoing bill.
